This month's topic is storage virtualization with a focus on Virtual SAN – This year VMware launched a vSphere-based virtual SAN for converged server and storage systems, Nutanix has released version 4.0 of its pre-packaged hardware and software appliance offering and DataCore released SANsymphony-V10 storage virtualization software and with it, a new virtual SAN capability designed to work with any hypervisor or storage. We therefore decided to compare these different approaches and concepts.
